Slots Myth

Gambling involves a lot of luck, and truthfully, some gambling games revolve only around luck. Such is the game of slot machines. Because of such reasons, gambling has produced many superstitions and myths for the gamblers to believe in. Some shrug it off, while other believe and follow these superstitions and myths as much as possible.

You might even have heard some of the myths listed below, but here are the truths in them. The types of slot machines are quite varied, but it seems myth surrounds almost if not all of the different variations. The first and most popular gambling by slot machine myth is that machines which haven't been hitting the jackpot in a long time is just about to at the next spin. This myth has no truth in it because slot machines are powered by computers which generate combinations randomly. So, you do not need to learn which slot machines in a casino have not hit the jackpot recently, because it does not any effect whatsoever in your gambling chance. The second myth about these gambling machines is somehow related to the first one. According to some gambling fans, slots which have hit the jackpot recently will not hit it again for a long time. This results in people not wanting to play these slot machines. However, like the first one, you should know that there cannot be any truth in this myth. As said earlier, the combinations are selected randomly, so there are no cycles of winning or losing in these gambling machines, so do not stay away from slot machines which have just hit the jackpot. The third myth on these gambling machines is more about betting than hitting the jackpot. Some gambling enthusiasts believe that they have more chances of winning if they bet only one coin in the slot machine, than when they bet a lot.

The root of this myth has a logical explanation. Gamblers who bet a lot but continuously lose will slow down on their bet and will resort to betting a coin for each spin, so when they finally win, they attribute the win to the change of bet. On the other hand, there is a very little number of gambling players who started betting on these machines with only one coin then, continuously lose, then increase the number of their bet. What you should know about this myth is that it isn't true as well. Why? Simply because these gambling machines do not know how much the gambling player has bet, because that function is stored separately from the combination chip. It seems that no matter how we rationalize the issue, the myths will remain and will also prevail in the 21st century variation of online slots.
